Purple and Gold Nails 0

We had a lil mini photoshoot last week at the Red FM office. In conjunction with Hari Raya. I have yet to buy my own baju kurung, so i was real thankful that my mom had a whole bunch at home. Hehe i borrowed this from my mom, cause i just loved the colour and …. I had an idea on how to do my nails to match the outfit!

Capital FM also got into the spirit. At the top left corner, me and Liang. At the bottom right, part of the RedFM team. hehehe dont’ we all look cute in our outfits! For the nails, i did it that day itself. Just a very simple design. Purple nail polish as the base, followed by taking a thin nail brush and just creating simple gold swirls. To make it standout a bit more, i added some gold glitter nail polish to the yellow swirls.  For the fourth nail, i just added some purple glitter to the tip. Yes i was out of ideas… but hey at least it matched my baju kurung. :)

Puasa (fasting period) is coming to an end soon. So before Raya comes, here’s wishing all my Muslims friends out there Selamat Berpuasa.

Friday The 13th Nails 4

I’m not a fan of horror films and personally i would not watch them.. I’m just chicken about these kinda ghost films, i admit that. But thrillers are fine.. so is gore. Anyway today happens to be friday the 13th and I’m suppose to attend an awards ceremony later on in the day, where by the theme is… take a guess. Yeap – Horror!! SO just to get into the mood of the “black day”. I did up my nails.

What do you think of the blood splatter nails? The tutorial was so easy and inspiring to follow. It totally reminds me of one of my favourite Tv Series, Dexter!! right right??

Friday 13TH Nails

I added the Scream face as well and a dead body outline for the thumb. The Scream face is actually pretty easy to draw. For the dead body outline just make sure you have a pencil or a pin to drawn an outline before using the white pen to make the actual outline. Just to give an added touch, i made a blood splatter on the dead body hahha.

Friday 13th Nails

For the right hand to make it easier for me to draw, i made claw marks on the thumb. I made the marks with the white pen. Purely by accident the scotch tape i accidentally pasted on the white claw mark, pulled off some of the paint and gave the claw marks an interesting texture :) Then just fill the white bits with red for the blood effect. Honestly for the ring finger.. i didn’t know what to do and ended up doing a geometrical design. I didn’t want to go to overboard cause it would make the nails too noisy.

friday The 13th Nails

Well here’s to having a fun Friday. Bad luck Friday.. meh. With these awesome nail design.. i’m having a good day already hehe.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects 0

I’ve currently in a nail phase and I’ve been trying all sorts of styles for my nails. I would like to think I’ve been blessed with reasonably looking hands from my mom. Who is superbly picky with her nails and hands. I can tell you even at her “young” age, her hands are wayyyyyyy softer than mine! Very well moisturized ^_^

Doing the nails is not an easy task and it’s fun to glam them up a bit. Especially when you have events to go for. I’m quite used to painting my nails, but recently I tried doing the nail stickers. I’ve used the one from the brand Naga before which cost about RM16.00 and I wasn’t impressed. It gave me a bad impression about nail stickers and I decided to not try nail stick ons again. Around the same time I did see Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips but I didn’t try it on the first go – even though I trust Sally Hansen nail products because it’s just too expensive. For one box, it cost RM45.90. Very the EX!!

However I saw a post online about the Sally Hansen Nail art stickers and I was very intrigued by how realistic they look on the girls fingers. Hence I decided to give them ago. And boy was it fast an easy.

According to the instructions it’s all done in three easy steps. Here’s a detailed video on how to apply them.

In the box there were 16 nail strips, one stick and the file. Now the file is important because it will help smoothen out the sticker.

I was surprised to find that the stickers were very soft and easily wrapped ad followed the curve of your nail. The nail sticker I tried before left a terrible crease and didn’t stick as easy. Making it fit to your finger was a joy!! So incredibly easy!!!

Ta Da!! One hand all done. On to the next one!

All fingers completed in 20minutes to my delight. There are 16 strips like I said earlier but because I’m such a “thrifty” person I managed to use on 6 strips for all 10!! Yeap if your nail is not that long you can afford to reuse the left over of one strip on another finger. Whee  so means I can use it again the next time!

The last touch just add a protective coat over your nail to make it hopefully stay on longer.

The box claims that this can last for about 10 days. Now I did this last Sunday on the 17th of March, it’s well past 7 days. The nails are still looking reasonably ok ^_^

My take on Sally Hansen Nail art stickers.

Time after sticking: 20mins, super fast
Look after sticking: very nice and realistic!
Compliments after sticking: Priceless!!!!!!

So is it worth the price RM45.90.  YES YES YES!! It’s my honest opinion. Now I’m just dying to try another design. ^_^
