I think it’s a truly brilliant device. Easy and convenient to use, plus none of the fruit is wasted.

After slicing up the pineapple, you can use the outer part of the pineapple as fruit decoration by placing other tropical fruits in it, like mango, apples, grapes or make even pinapple rice!

  1. The Pineapple Corer Slicer
  2. Chopping board

It’s that time of the year, when the whole world celebrates anyone who is a Dad. It’s timely that Man of Steel is released on the same week of Father’s Day. I just want to say the real superhero is our Dad. If not for my Dad, I wouldn’t be where I am today. He’s the leading man in the household who loves his family to a fault. Everything he does and thinks of doing is for our benefit, in an overly generous way… but that’s just our Dad.. my Dad to be specific.

To the real Superman

I know as a kid I was pretty naughty (probably still am in someways) and I’ve always wanted to do my own thing. But I can’t thank my Dad for being supportive in whatever path I take. He’s my number one fan and he’s always the first one to want to give me encouragement.. in his own way. I read this somewhere online, which says “Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a daddy.” That’s very true…each memory we’ve had gives us the reason to call this man our daddy. Hehe i’ve always liked the name, daddy.

Anyways I just want to wish my Dad and all Dad’s out there, a very Special Father’s Day.. and here’s how my my long lost partner on RedFM, Mynn did the wishing with me.. Enjoy!

i’ll always be your little girl daddy… Happy Father’s Day and I love you!

I’ve been court side reporting for the Asean Basketball League for the past 5 months or so now and I’m truly very honoured to be apart of this league. Working, watching and talking about one of my favourite sports, that I grew up playing in school and later on just before college life. Through my past time on the court, I’ve learnt a great deal from my buddy and colleague Ben Ibrahim – whom I like to refer to as my basketball si fu. Teaching me the ropes, terms and how to read the game. Playing in school is totally different to watching it mind you.

All things ABL. Interviewing Player of the Game, Coaches and talking some guy stuff with the other commentators :P

Anyways, I just want to share this article by Ben, which he wrote regarding the ABL Season 4 Playoffs. Let me give a summary first. Altogether 6 teams in the league, it finally boils down to two teams who have clawed their way to the playoffs – the Indonesia Warriors vs the San Miguel Beermen from the Philippines.  The Warriors were champions last year, but looking at how the Beermen have been playing this season – creating history in the league by winning 16 straight games just before the playoffs – the reigning champs could have trouble holding their spot. Anything could happen for the ABL Playoffs remaining last 5 games.

I’ll stop blabbering and let you read Ben’s thoughts :)  I do hope you’re enlightened by it and it may intrigued you to want to see what goes on in the league next season.

Game 3 of the Asean Basketball League (ABL) finals will be played tonight between the San Miguel Beermen (SMB) and the defending champions, Indonesia Warriors.  This time, home court will be in Indonesia’s favour as the first two games were in Manila.  Both teams gave us an incredible display of basketball in games 1 & 2, but both times SMB came up the winner to take a commanding lead, 2-0, in the-best-of-5-series.

In Game 2, the Warriors had chances to win the game, but their poor free throw shooting and their inability to stop SMB from scoring in the paint cost them the game.  SMB scored 17 points through second chance opportunities compared to Indonesia’s 4.  Stan Pringle had a quiet first half, but finished the game strongly with 21 points.   Full credit must be given to Indonesia for fighting SMB all the way in game 2.  Not only do the champions have a thin roster, but also star players John Smith and Jerick Canada got hurt in the second game, so it is unsure if they can both continue playing for the rest of the series.  American imports Steve Thomas and Chris Daniels were also lucky not to be fouled out.  SMB won game 2 by 66-65.

Many people are expecting SMB to close out the series in game 3 tonight, but as they say in sport, “Never underestimate champions”.

The Warriors will put it all on the line tonight, but in my opinion, they must play smart basketball – by shooting well and pushing the Beermen “bigs” (forwards and center) out of the paint.   It sounds straightforward on paper, but SMB have such great depth in their team that they are capable of winning by using a number of tactics.

For SMB, they can’t let complacency sink in.  Coach Leo Austria told me last month, in a pre-game interview, that complacency cost them the finals last year when they were the favourites.  Over these last 3 days, he has constantly reminded his team that they are not champions yet and still have to earn the title.

One man who played a huge part in SMB’s game 2 victory was former Westports Malaysia Dragons star Brian Williams, who scored 17 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.  Williams moved to SMB this season to enhance his chances of winning a championship.   If SMB win, his decision will be vindicated and all their fans can finally say SMB are the kings of ASEAN basketball.

Whenever I see the colour brown, I think of Mother Earth.

I grew painting a lot and I was always fascinated by landscapes. Just taking in the view of a beautiful scenery or nature would put me in a calm state. I love looking at the rich brown colours of tree barks. These hues put me in a state whereby I feel secure, strong, grounded and all the adjectives related to that of a tree.

Was taking a stroll at the Samsung Store and I saw they have the Note 2 in a different colour and it’s called Amber Brown.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Amber Brown

Have a look at the full details here. All the specs are the same just that it’s now in this engaging Brown. :)

If you’re like me.. you enjoy looking at nature and you like colours that portray these characteristics.

  • You are steady and reliable and quietly confident.
  • You are friendly and approachable, genuine and sincere.
  • You may suppress your emotions at times, retreating from the outside world.
  • You like the feeling of being secure
  • You like being grounded in life..

Then consider the Note 2. It’s out for a limited time and who knows maybe looking at the colour Brown maybe just the thing to get your emotions or creatvity flowing. Mine started flowing and I did these nails for my dear friend Sarah. Check it out.. brown leopard prints and even a treebark design. :)

Ooo and found this floating around youtube. Have fun viewing.

There have been many reviews about the Samsung S4, so I’ll try not to bore you too much… or rather I’ll try not to make you to envious about the phone. Bwahahaha… I keed i keed :P

Lemme share some of the fun reasons why I think this phone is the bomb ..

1. Turn your phone into a remote control for ANY TV

This was soooo much fun! The minute I found out you could use the s4 as a remote control, I immediately gave it a test run with my parents TV, which by the way was not of the same brand as my Samsung. But that’s redundant, cause the S4 can act a universal remote (fro TV anyway) and I could turn on, turn off and change channels of the TV with my S4!!!! So cool! Here’s one thing I would like to try.. just go to a home appliance store and turn off the TVs when a salesperson is trying to sell something.. lol i’m so mean, but come on you gotta admit it would be funny. A person trying to make a good presentation and then you just turn off the TV while he’s talking.. no..? Ok it’s just me. But give this a try, you’ll just be fascinated with it.

Let’s switch this baby off!!

2. S Health

After using this feature, I concur it is da bomb! Took a while to get used to but I love how it forces you to really take care and monitor your food. For people who are really nit picky and count down to the very last calorie, you would love the S Health. Among it’s great features, you can even take pictures of your food and mark the calorie amount to each one. i was truly surprised when I even searched in its system for the calorie intake of a “chapati” which you would find at the mamak. It had the calorie info! The exercise feature you would have to gauge a bit but it’s great cause you then know what you did on a daily/weekly/monthly or even yearly basis.

S health Rocks!

3. Better Camera with a SUPER Variety of Camera Functions

Boasting a 13MP camera at the back and a 2MP camera in front, I have no complaints about the Galaxy S4 Camera. It’s enhanced to have even more features that the previous phone. Such as the dual camera, whereby you can take pictures or videos of the front and the back scenery at the same time! Wicked! There’s also the cool drama shot which allows you to people in slow motion. That’s perfect cause now I get to take shots of my darling Duchess (my dog) , who dislikes the camera, and it takes forever for her to look at me for a picture  >.<

Checkout this video I made, its go the front and back for the camera!

And let me intro you to parts of my working environment.. but of course I must have my face in the picture :P

Front and back camera.. lurrvveee. Say hello to my radio station. RedFM :)

Oh my gosh this is just way to fun.. wiggly eyebrows using the Animate Mode on the S4 Camera

Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle.. I’m sexy and I know it hahaha

Let me play with the phone a bit more and i’ll have more thoughts about it soon :)

I need to admit something.. I haven’t visited the dentist for a good 3-4 years.. easily. Maybe more.. i don’t remember. Shame on me. So when I was given the chance to check out the Dental service at BP Healthcare, I said why not. I’m way overdue for a checkup and this would be the perfect opportunity.

BP Dental was set up with the hopes of making the public more aware about dental hygiene. Most of the time I’d think most of us won’t even consider going to a dentist unless we have major teeth pain, cavities and what not. Prevention is better than cure and it’s advice we should have our teeth checked every 6 months or at least once in a year. People can just walk into the BP Healthcare centers and get their teeth checked. Best part checkups are FREE!!

The waiting area

They do have other services like the following, which there will be a charge but it’s not a lot :)

  • Scaling & Polishing
  • Tooth-coloured Fillings
  • Root Canal Treatments
  • Tooth Extractions/Minor oral surgery
  • Dentures

Currently dental service is available at BP Healthcare at 3 outlets which I’ll in more detail at the bottom of this post. I went to the one in Glenmarie which wasn’t hard to find, especially with Waze. Upon arrival I thought I’d have difficulty parking and parked a few meters away. Then the security guard – who was super helpful and friendly – told me that i could’ve just parked inside the area. needless to say I went back out, reparked me car within the vicinity and .. guess what.. I had prime parking! Right smack in front of the door. Score! Tick for points!

Right in front of the entrance. Woot!

Went in and was first brought in by the receptionist/admin who were sweet and friendly. I felt very welcomed at BP healthcare. Tick for points!

Sitting pretty at the waiting area

Without wasting time they brought me straight to see the dentist, Dr Nazli. Speaking first with the dentist was real comforting because when I was younger I’ve always had this paranoia with the dentist. i don’t have that as bad anymore now that I’m a grown up but the thing that will get to me.. is the thought of how sensitive my teeth would be the minute the dentist starts scaling my teeth. Especially my bottom front, cause part of the gum has receded, which i presume is due to me wearing braces years ago. Point is the dentist made me feel very comfortable and at ease before making me sit in the chair. He brokedown what was his specialty and what procedure he would be doing. Mine was a general checkup that included scaling and cleaning. The dentist didn’t just check my teeth, he even took picture of it with a micro camera. Facing the dentist chair is a tv screen which allows you to see your horrendous looking dirty teeth (at the beginning of the session la). Dr  Nazli showed me my problem areas which was the plaque build up which according to him wasn’t too bad… i was appalled by my teeth hygiene though. Completely my fault for not taking care.

Doc then began with the cleaning, scaling and polishing process. I was gripping the chair – which by the way was very comfy – cause I was just waiting for the moment the dental tool touched my sensitive bottom front tooth. To my surprise it wasn’t so bad… wasn’t as sensitive as I thought it would be. Doc told me it was due to the high quality tools used and of course his gentle skills. :P

Checkout my experience and hear what Dr Nazli sounds like.

The before and after shots really helped in making take into account the areas I really needed to focus more brushing on. And of course, floss floss floss! The pictures can also be either emailed or given to patients in CD. Now that’s a well thought out service right there.
