Sucker Punch Me!

Thanks to TGV i managed to watch Sucker punch with my sis and so here are my thoughts about it

I LOVE the film! I don’t care what critics have to say and what ENews has been stating that this could be the worse movie of the year. No! i disagree! it doesn’t suck badly at all. i think reviews have been overly harsh about the film.

Sure the acting may be a bit cheesy and the storyline is poor. But i think it should be seen as for what it is. Which is mainly a film which is action packed with fantastic visual effects and excellent cinematography. A version of 300 but with a girly punch to it (granted it is not as fab as the film 300). I expect no less as it is from the same director Zack Snyder who wrote and directed Sucker Punch. Come on…. how cool is it to watch girls kick butt and still look pretty. it’s absolutely impossible and thats why it’s fascinating haha.

I’ll try to summarise the film for you as short as possible. Girl named Baby Doll(Emily Browning), loses her entire family and is instutionalised by her stepdad. She tries to escape the mental institution – which she plays in her head as very high class brothel. In order to escape she needs to get five items. Then in another subreality from that, her imagination takes her to become this superhero who battles in german warzones and fight against flying dragons, whenever she attempts to get the 5 items she needs to break free from the mental home. Along with new found friends Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), Rocket (Jena Malone), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) and Amber (Jamie Chung), she gets all the five items… or does she.

i have to say i wasn’t really expecting the ending to play out the way it did. And in a very random moment, the movie decided to take a philosophical turn at the end. Questioning who controls ones destiny… ok maybe this is the part where the movie may seem bad. But i still think it had some relevance and relation to the film. Do check it out for yourself, if the story doesn’t bother you so much, then at least watch it for the visual effects. It’s just too awesome!

Anyway…So i got a bit bored and decided to put some of photoshopping abilities to the test. And yes because i’m very very impressed with the film, i decided to become a part of it, since i would not get the chance everrrrr to act in something as majorly kick ass as this
