I just recently signed up to Plurk.. like 7 hours ago in the whee morning. Hence you are now looking at my instant blogging widget on the right hand side. ^_^ I’m quite liking it actually. the interface is really friendly and cool to play around with. Heavily ajax and slides around with ease when you want to see the timeline of who said what. It’s like a huge fish tank in some ways with tons of people just randomly typing out their thoughts, what they are doing… such fun :)

plurk

Plurk is smart in the sense in order to make you use Plurk even more, is by giving you the motivation to want to level up. They gage it by using ‘karma’. What do i mean by karma point? Hahaha it’s almost like a game but a game where you get more points the more you use the product. It’s pretty much the same system like Intense Debate. The more you reply back to people, use plurk for whatever means, your karma stats will go up.

plurk-karma

How can you increase your karma?

  • Updating your profile (picture, location, birth day etc.) will gain you more karma
  • Quality plurking each day
  • Responses from other plurkers will gain you karma.
  • Inviting your real friends will boost your karma

Interesting Neh?

Plurk is a lot more interesting than twitter in a couple of ways, other than the interface. I personally like how you get to reply back to your friends in PLurk.

Plurk allows users to add emoticons to their one line sentences.

See all the cute emoticons? heheeh MSN ain't the only one with all the fun. But I need to increase my karma to get them.

So give it a try out :) and join me hehe

The Dark Knight watches over Gotham City
The Dark Knight watches over Gotham City, go to the official website here.

I have been waiting for this movie ‘The Dark Knight‘ anxiously for over 7 months now. I wasn’t jumping up and down at first last year, but after seeing the trailer and being pleasantly surprised that the Joker was to act by Heath Ledger. I was eagerly waiting for the countdown… and even more so because this is the last movie the late Heath acted in. The man was a fantastic actor and this movie just proves how much of an actor he is.

It did not disappoint me at all!

Spectacular acting, visuals, cinematography, soundtrack and overall storyline.

I was hooked to my chair and with brief moments cringe at certain scenes from the film, which I’m glad did not turn gruesome. How shall i even begin..

Ok brief synopsis, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is trying to rid the city of bad people and he’s not alone. You see a deeper character of the Batman in this film, which portrays more of his troubles and problems of being a ‘superhero’. A bit like how Spidey had his issue at first. We find that Batman is torn in the manners of how he has to capture criminals. He wants to make a difference, just that it requires sacrifices. Sacrifices which he himself is doubtful whether they are worth it.

Alfred ever so watchful over his master and ever the smart alec with the sharp tongue :)
Who would’ve thought that our god father from Harry Potter is such a wonderful commisioner

Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) is trying to do the same, but there is a new player of good in town, name Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) who is Gotham’s District Attorney. Harvey is the white knight everyone is looking to as he has placed a number of baddies in a cell. Bruce aka Batman is really appreciative of that and teams up with alongside Gordan. Eckhart pulled of the ‘hero’ character well at the beginning, but didn’t fail to leave bread trails of his behaviour possible changing..

“You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself turn into the villian.”

My favourite line of the night.

All the while, Bruce is actually trying to impress Dent’s girlfriend, Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) a new comer to the show. I’m really really glad they did’t put Katie Holmes (i know i sound bad) but I don’t she can cut the character quite as much as Maggie. Whom I think did a wonderful job of being a strong headed woman, however not much can be said because while her character was very important for the turn of events. The crux of the film was still drawn towards the men.

Maggie was a real treat to watch, I'm really glad she didn't play the whiny girl but the strong head on type.

The Joker.. madder than what one would think.. He's complete sinister

Mean while in the dirty underworld, the Joker (Heath Ledger) has made a deal with mob that he will get rid of Batman provided the mob pays him half of their entire mountain of money which has been kept somewhere safely by a Hong Kong accountant, Lau (Chin Han) – whom in my opinion was too smart for his own good. So basically you have the mob and the Joker on one side, up against Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent. Not to mention with people like Bruce’s butler, Alfred (Michael Caine) and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) to help as well.

Quite a number of stunning actors we have ranging from Academy Award and Oscar nominees/winners.. phew! Christopher Nolan did a smashing job of portraying the second installment of the remake of the Batman series.

This is a relaly cool shot. Heheh The Dark Director or Two Sided Director :P

I personally like the touch they have done to Dark Knight, as they have made it a lot more real, compared to the days of the Batman being acted out by Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney. Not dissing but this years Batman, was not as ‘comicky’ as the previous ones. Take for example Harvey Dent after he became Two face. His face was truly gruesome not like the one which was in Batman & Robin (1997). Pardon me for comparing. I don’t want to tell to much about the movie as it may spoil it for you. And this is the ONLY time ever I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it!!

I love the movie and I’m probably going to watch it again on Saturday. :) Oh little note, i stuck all the way till the end of the credits.. it’s ok. You are safe to go off, because there wasn’t any sneak preview or special continuation after that that.

UPDATE: I wanna watch it on IMAX!!!!!

I had the wonderful pleasure of a terrible bath just a few minutes ago.

It was a long rehearsal for Ismail and I came home to a bathroom that was not working like it should. The water that was coming out from the taps was just pouring out hot water. So you tell me how am i suppose to have a nice warm bath when I was busy boiling myself.

It’s terrible..

Imagine only having like less than 7 seconds to quickly wash soap of yourself before your skin is scalded by hot water. It’s crazy.. I had to keep on turning on and off the tap, because the hot water was heating up the tiles on the bathroom floor. Yeah.. meaning my little toeties were being burnt as well.

Everytime now when I don’t have water to use, especially when it comes to necessities like cleaning myself. I always remember my friends short video which was sent to the BMW shorties 2008.

The title of the video was called F.L.O.W by Teresa Choong and my friend/classmate from and, Sani, is the guy acting in it. The concept of her film was brilliant, where it just shows a guy wondering about on any given day, but he had to do everything without water. The thought of it is so simple and yet impactful. Have a look at it :) The video made it into the top 10 finalist.

Really imagine if we didn’t have water to clean ourselves, to drink, water our plants.. to do anything… **shudder** me no likie… I need my water!!

But goes to show too.. how much we take simple things like that for granted in life, thinking that it will always be there..

is now a thing of the past even though it was only like a few months back. The people at wordpress.org is doing all they can to upgrade this wonderful platform into an even better one from the day it started. While i love upgrades but at the same time i dread them. For two reasons. One I’m just so darn lazy to upgrade. Two.. I could lose a number of things in the process of upgrading… which is always my biggest paranoia.

Taking a tour through the wordpress 2.6 video. I’m pretty excited with the new features.. not to say that I’m not happy already with 2.5.1 which is an immense upgrade to the previous wordpress platforms. Have a look at the video yourself.

Sigh so here we go in ..

Last week I wrote about how it’s a been a little tough in getting the time to blog cause i was so stressed out. One of the topics i had mention in , was on whether one should be blunt or not?

Sometimes you are stuck in a sticky situation with people, where you just don’t know what to do. Like for example say someone has bad BO or if someone has bad breath. Will you tell them that they have got those smelly things going on for them?

Or let me give another example… You know those people who audition for So You Think You Can Dance or American Idol? They sound atrocious but they insist people have told them they are good? Why weren’t they told from the very beginning that they just can’t cut it, before having to hear it on international television by a panel of harsh judges?

Or if say i went for a show, and I felt that it was bad… should i tell them after the show that is was bad? Or I shall be the supportive friend and say “Hey great job, it was really good!!” Where do you draw the line on being blunt?

Different situations will cause me to react differently and even more so it depends on who I’m saying my direct statement too. I can be blunt at times and I admire the people who are really blunt, daring enough to say the truth to people even though they don’t wish to hear it.

I guess that sometimes, when it comes to giving an answer at face value you don’t wish to offend the other party in the process. It’s especially hard when it comes to friends.. close friends… i’d say is a different thing altogether. With friends /acquaintances.. you are not yet at the level where it’s alright to make snide remarks or direct statements which you know they will not take to heart.

Close friends, would permit you to be more direct, where as a friend I would tell you the truth of the matter. They will tell you if something is terrible because they don’t want you to feel the repercussions of the what the future could be. They will tell you if you have bad breath because hey you don’t want other people to be like going ‘ooh gosh don’t go near him… he stinks!’ They will tell you if something doesn’t seem right cause they don’t want you hurt. They will tell you when something you do is stupid because they don’t want you to be given the weird look by others.

For me would I choose to be blunt? Yeah, I’d rather be. It is not because I want or intend to put people down but where I’m really truthful in terms of telling people my honest opinion, it’s cause I bother. If not why would I waste my breath, my thoughts, my saliva and my energy to even tell a person something is off. I cherish the people who will give me their honest opinions even if it is a blow to the ego, but at least I know the truth. I would rather hear something like that than here a lie.

smail The Last Days as I have mentioned here all the way from the and – to some of the , and my occasional contributions on the production blog. Is now moving into our third month of rehearsals.

We are just one month more away from the show and boy.. rehearsals are getting even more taxing now.  Much strain of the body and the voice – not to mention the brain to try and force lyrics in – the poster and postcards are finally done! They have been creatively designed by our new onboard graphic designer ^_^ you know who you are.
